Dr. Derek Nash graduated from the University of Guelph in 2014 completing his Bachelor of Science degree in Human Kinetics. He then attended the New York Chiropractic College graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2017.
His passion for chiropractic was developed during his time at the University of Guelph where he was treated for low back pain by Dr. Corey Beninger. Following a positive experience with chiropractic care he decided to volunteer at the Health and Performance Center during his final year of undergraduate studies before attending the New York Chiropractic College.
Dr. Nash uses a variety of evidenced based chiropractic therapies to deliver focused treatment to each individual. He is certified in Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), a screen that analyzes movement to determine the root cause of pain and mobility problems. He couples this assessment technique with Functional Range Release (FR) manual soft tissue therapy and Fascial Movement Taping (FMT) to treat muscles, tendons, ligaments and the surrounding fascia. He also has advanced certifications in whole foods nutrition as well as sport science and human performance.
Dr. Nash has been involved in athletics his whole life, growing up near London, Ontario he played hockey through the winter and golf each summer. He is currently an avid golfer, enjoys playing pick-up hockey, snowmobiling and spending time with friends and family.
His goal is to reduce musculoskeletal pain and improve mobility allowing patients to carry out their daily activities, whatever they may be, through patient specific assessment, treatment plans, reassessment and education.
